“DROP THE SHIELD” 

It’s not easy to DROP THE SHIELD and let someone see that behind the smile, behind the strength, and behind the “I’m fine,” you may actually be hurting. Mark Jackson from “Life Out There Apparel” & Kenny Mitchell  from “Operation Yellow Tape” (a 21 year Fire Lieutenant - Retired) know this all to well as they have both lived this & have personally hid in the shadows behind a smile for several years. They have faught battles inside their own minds that most people would never know existed. They both have experienced and know what carrying that weight can do to your mind, body, and soul - yet they have both learned how important it is to finally get vulnerable and let people in. Their experiences have helped fuel the “Life Out There Apparel” mission of doing a launch every September (for suicide awareness & prevention) as well as Kenny launching the “Operation Yellow Tape” mission turned movement. Together with Life Out There Apparel, we’re bringing that message to life with our new “DROP THE SHIELD” collection. This launch is about breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide, reminding people that vulnerability is not weakness & asking for help does not make you weak. We want to create a culture of men and women willing to get LOUD AND PROUD about their struggles, check in on one another, listen without judgment, and have the conversations that too many of us are afraid to have. Because sometimes dropping your shield and saying “I’m not okay” could be the first step toward finding hope—and it could ultimately save a life.
